Discovery House hires Director of Philanthropic Partnerships
Effective Wednesday, April 11, 2018, Evie Eshpeter will begin her new position as Director of Philanthropic Partnerships at Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Society.
Ms. Eshpeter’s dynamic career includes public relations roles in both the charitable and corporate sectors. In her role at Youth Central, Evie helped grow the Youth of Distinction Awards into one of Calgary’s largest recognition programs for young people. After three years, Evie moved to Queensland, Australia where she coordinated Red Cross Calling, the organization's annual state-wide fundraising campaign. Returning to Canada, Evie transitioned into government relations, working for the Canadian Cancer Society and championing efforts that led to the passage of Alberta’s Skin Cancer Prevention Act and Compassionate Care Leave legislation. From there, Evie became the head of public relations and communications for SOLE, an international footwear company, also leading the company’s athlete and charitable sponsorship programs. In 2015, Evie started her own company, Jelle Public Relations. During her time as a sole proprietor she helped launch the inaugural Canadian International Fashion Film Festival and led efforts to rebuild renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s Pavilion in Banff. Most recently, she served on Mayor Nenshi’s re-election campaign team. A fifth generation Calgarian, Evie cares deeply for her community and is honoured to join Discovery House, where she can give back through their innovative work and compassionate mission.
