On Saturday, January 21, staff and friends of Discovery House and the Centre for Newcomers donned bright yellow toques and walked down Stephen Avenue along side 3,500 other supporters of women rights. The sun was shining and the crowd was enthusiastic. The Discovery House group was easy to see from miles away as their heads shone like beacons of hope. Adults of all ages joined with children and raging grannies to create a spectacle of optimism. Chanting, singing and drumming added to the excitement and sense of community.
