Discovery House welcomes Interim Director of Philanthropic Partnerships
We are pleased to announce that Rick McFerrin will be joining Discovery House as our Interim Director of Philanthropic Partnerships, starting on Aug. 26, 2019. Rick is a business development professional with more than 25 years of experience in non-profit management, community development and donor relations. He is best known as the founder and former executive director and development director of Two Wheel View, a youth development organization focused on building resiliency in teens living in Calgary, Montreal and in First Nations communities. Rick also has a long history of working with and supporting other community-based organizations through board leadership roles, volunteering and consulting work. Rick has an MBA in International Management and his success has been built on developing and managing strategic partnerships, building consensus with team members, and keen attention to detail. Outside of work, Rick and his family are very adventurous and have been highlighted in local and national news for their family bicycle travel experiences around the world. Rick and Tanya McFerrin have three teenage boys – one at Concordia University in Montreal, the middle son in Switzerland on a high school year exchange program, and the youngest in Grade 10 at Western Canada High School. Rick likes to wear plaid, enjoy good food and company, and celebrate success.
