Understanding domestic violence

Domestic violence can happen in any relationship.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, loved, and supported. Violence and abuse is not an accident. It is deliberate but isn’t always visible or obvious. If someone uses physical violence, makes threats, uses names, harasses or isolates another person, or controls their finances…this is abuse.
